Burping Stomach Virus

Ramallah, June 18, 2009

Dear friends,

there are less than three weeks on the fifth anniversary of the ruling of the International Court of Justice on the dismantling of the Wall. The fact that the construction of the wall continues, in five years by the sentence, impunity is the clearest proof that the international community guarantees to Israel.

On this anniversary, we appeal to supporters of Palestinian rights in the world to renew their efforts to fight against the Apartheid Wall.

How Campaign against the Apartheid Wall and Palestinian Popular Committees Against the Wall and settlements, we are resisting the wall since the beginning of its construction.

Today, people are mobilizing in the weekly protests to defend their land against the wall facing repression growing rapidly by the Israeli army and we ask you to join us against the arrests, injuries and killings of our people.

Five years ago, the International Court of Justice seemed to have strengthened our fight. On July 9, 2004, the Court ruled that:

- the construction of the Wall in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, is illegal and that Israel should cease construction, dismantle the sections already built and compensate the damage caused.

- no state would provide aid or assistance in maintaining Wall and its regime and all States Parties to the Fourth Geneva Convention are obliged to ensure compliance by Israel with international humanitarian law.

Despite the clarity of this ruling, neither Israel nor the international community have indicated their intention to respect their obligations towards international law. Instead, the Board has simply disappeared from the agenda of international diplomacy, while the destruction continues at issue.

In the first four months of this year, the Israeli army has built more parts of the Wall that the whole of 2008. As a result of this project, the staggering number of 266,422 Palestinians living in the West Bank are surrounded, isolated and with the prospect of deportation.

The United Nations did nothing to make the decision of the International Court of Justice and, with the exception of a few governments, States did not put pressure or sanctions against Israel. The international business continues to fund and provide materials for the construction of the Wall for the colonies. If the administration

Obama and the European governments were serious about their positions on the colonies, first would require compliance with the court ruling, which highlights the illegality of the Wall, settlements and the regime that is associated with. In this way, political leaders could enforce international law and restore the peoples faith in peace and in the future.

left alone to defend their rights and norms of international law, the popular committees continued their protests with the support of human rights defenders around the world. Have slowed the construction of the wall and get refunds of land, but the ultimate goal to bring down the Berlin Wall is still distant. Palestinian villages are still paying a high price for their determination: 16 people, half of them children, have already been killed by Israeli forces during the protests, while hundreds more were injured or arrested.

Entire villages suffer the curfew and closure of the gates of the Wall as collective punishment.

habitual use of plastic bullets against people on their own land is just the latest in a long series of measures that violate our political rights. We ask you to

mobilize with us on the fifth anniversary of the ruling of the International Court of Justice and help protect people's committees, to replace the wall on your agenda, to put pressure on your government and the UN United which to comply with their obligation to implement the ruling of the Court of International Affairs stop profiting from the Israeli crimes.

You can do this:

- organizing events to raise awareness for the July 9

- Contacting your media and asking him to inform on the Wall and on the fight against it

- writing to your encouragement and your MPs and asking them to protest against the repression of the popular committees and undertake to implement the ruling of the International Court of Justice

- Including the Wall in your campaigns and policy initiatives.

Thank you for your support.

Referendum. Bankruptcy consultation, good for democracy

Gianluigi Pegolo

Failure of a quorum in the referendum to amend the electoral law for Parliament is an extremely positive. If the threshold had been exceeded by 50% of those eligible and if they had won Yes, today we will all be less free. That referendum

fact, proposed to transform the Italian political system in a two-party system in which a single vote more than the others, a party could obtain a majority of seats.

irresponsible the Democratic Party supported the referendum, thereby running the risk of allowing Berlusconi to greatly strengthen its role by allowing the Freedom Party to maintain absolute power. Certainly this result was affected by the opposition of the League, but worthy of note is the commitment to the abstention of some political forces, including in particular the Communist Refoundation, many representatives of the democratic elements of the judiciary in general and of the left in During these weeks have the electorate aware of the dangers that it would bring to democracy. The battle for the preservation of constitutional principles to the defense of democracy does not end here and it is important in this sense that the fortunes against the referendum committees continue their work ".

PD-UDC: a project to take out the Communists

Di Massimo Lorusso

In Piedmont, the largest axis is prepared centrist UDC-PD for the upcoming regional elections and, perhaps, for a broader agreement at national level.

The first signs are have occurred in the first round in the town of Tortona, an important town in the province of Alexandria, in which the Democratic Party and Italy of Values \u200b\u200bsubmitted a candidate for mayor in the municipality of Union Center, George Bailo, a member of your party Casini.

Confirmation is apparently arrived at the time of the ballot in two provinces of Piedmont, Turin and Alexandria, after the first round in which both the outgoing president of the Province of Turin (Saito) that the outgoing president of Alexandria (Philippi), after a long courtship and promises of departments, having obtained ' apparently Conlie ' UDC for the second round.

axis UDC - PD in Piedmont, then, is ripe and ready to be extended to the region. The project for a good part of the PD, Piedmont and Italy, is clear: do away with the Communists, moving to the right, to govern. Left and freedom is an integral part of this project, ready to be the "left" wing of a large centrist coalition.

In light of this, it becomes difficult understand and share the project of the Left and Libert à , destined to a position of subalternit à the Democratic Party and unavoidable dependence on it.

In this context, even some of the companions of the PdCI choices are questionable, if in the province of Turin have presented their own candidate in the first round as did PRC, and now say they are worried of ' Agreement with ' UDC, in Alexandria, where they are in coalition with the center-left from the first round, have accepted the ' apparently quite passively.

The regional authorities are in a few months and we will probably forced to a difficult election campaign, which sees a substantial part of the Democratic Party hope for an agreement with the ' UDC to exclude the Communist forces, and especially the Communist PRC, from the regions. In this case it would be able to create a united front in Piedmont and anti-communist forces, able to resist ' portatoci yet another attack by the Democratic Party.

"But what shocks is talking about D'Alema? The left does not want to respect the democratic vote may freely expressed by the voters? The most likely hypothesis is that D'Alema has suffered a heat stroke. " So the Secretary to the Prime Minister, Hon. Paolo Bonaiuti, reply to the words of former Prime Minister D'Alema to half an hour.

Fabrizio Cicchitto - "outlines a scenario Cossiga welcomed. But on the indication of Dragons wrong. " Fabrizio Cicchitto, the House leader of the PDL, thus excludes the idea - advanced by former President Francesco Cossiga - that the Bank of Italy Governor Mario Draghi was the man chosen by the "party of the conspiracy" to replace Silvio Berlusconi as Prime Minister.
interview with La Stampa, said Cicchitto with Dragons "there can be agreement or disagreement on economic policy, but exclude the possibility that he might be at the center of the plot." The
"campaign effectively destroyed" against Berlusconi "is orchestrated by an external entity: superpartito of the Republic," said Cicchitto, that "the Quirinal has nothing to do and can not be touched by doubts of any kind." Commenting on the interview released yesterday by Massimo D'Alema Lucia Annunziata in the TV show "In half an hour," Cicchitto called the leader of the Democratic Party "the last time in order to be climbed on the bandwagon of the Republic of superpartito" .

Renato Farina - "D'Alema does not think ever in terms of ratings, numbers, electoral support, which came out very clear from the polls, but perennial Communist so any kind of force - legal or not - is used by him in view of power. Let me be clear, if he is honest. Say that you want the government itself without popular legitimacy and the support of such powers. It would be outrageous, but would at least have the merit of sincerity. "

Maurizio Gasparri -" D'Alema is a born loser. Play the plot since he was young lad in uniform pay tribute to the communist Togliatti. He failed to head party and was driven to great acclaim from Palazzo Chigi with an electoral defeat in two thousand. Now lose the north, center and south. Even his friends Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon have lost after walking with him in Beirut. D 'Alema it is presumptuous, but it's not a lucky charm. "

Osvaldo Napoli - "D'Alema is a replicant tired and discouraged. No longer has a canvas and suddenly a piece of politics in which he first did not believe anymore. What once was the leader of a formation through a palace coup, is now reduced to the role of ventriloquist's painful Scalfaro. Repeats in the afternoon threats written by others in the morning. The fact that the company engaged in turning the young actor Casini deceives him about the possibility of imminent shock on the government. D'Alema knows something more than what the newspapers? D'Alema believes that the League, which he characterized as a time rib of the left and now degraded to the praetorian guard of Berlusconi, is about to overturn the table? D'Alema grown more than a hope, at this point senile, to get back on stage for a final solo. As Moliere warned, however, the size of an actor as you can see from his leave from the scene. D'Alema confirmed mediocre in this circumstance. "

Piero Testoni - "This time, D'Alema has a center. Too bad the national Baffino under the pretext of talking about Berlusconi, gave us a beautiful portrait. He intends to half the leaders, even media leaders, because it had never managed to be in the round. Or as party leader, or as head of a coalition when it was, thanks to the skill of others, President of the Council of Ministers. As for the brush about the arrogance of Berlusconi, Massimo equals Freud. As means of arrogance, its more than a slip of the tongue is an admission of guilt and a quest for companionship in a confrontation with the leader of the PDL, which remains inaccessible to him.

We went bad ... but the center-right has won everywhere ... some reflections from
The Morning ..

If the urns are empty for the left, you throw the ballot. The elections, parliamentary rules, the democracy that is based on the vast majority are good only when the left is supported the votes, wins the elections and occupy the positions of power. Otherwise, you have to find alternate routes, shortcuts, "shock", said Massino D'Alema.
This is the new slogan of the defeated: the "shock". D'Alema has tried in vain to explain: the meaning was clear and was (and is) synonymous with "turnaround". Or a series of events that bring the current center-right parliamentary majority to crumble and allow the left to return to power, possibly via an intermediate step, as it did in 1995.
What's worrying is not the desire of the opposition to return to the government: It is normal this to happen, and in fact happening everywhere. It is the role of opposition, it is his right to work to become a majority. What worries
, in which Italy is not a "normal" country, is that the left opposition did not accept the "normal" situation of being a minority after the holding of free elections and entrusts his hopes to not ' effectiveness of political discourse but to extraneous events, dubbed "shock" by D'Alema, a political figure that a bit of shock 'they will be - apart from evaluating the results and fruits. When in 1994 the first "shock" Achille Occhetto by the secretariat of the then PDS, in agreement with Veltroni, then, in the same year, defeated by the votes of members who will pronounce in favor of Veltroni, "shock" that result thanks to a maneuver Summit, in 1998, "shock" Prodi and the overhang from the Council Presidency in 2008, has "shaken up" - not alone - both by the secretariat of the new Pd Veltroni and Prodi, a second time, Palazzo Chigi.
This reveals once again the contempt of the genetic left to individual freedom, the freedom to vote, democracy based on freedom. It reveals an instinct for the "democratic centralism", ie the power elite who decided to co-opt and manipulate - they - the public.

Automatic Car Starter Rochester, New York

We say NO to Referendum hoax: June 21 MAKES!

1. We are all unhappy with the current electoral law , universally referred to as "porcellum" with which he voted in the last two elections (2006 and 2008).
2. This law, through the blocked lists, has snatched the voters of any remaining possibility to choose their representatives in Parliament, giving a narrow oligarchy of people (the leaders of political parties) the power to 100% of the composition of the Legislative Assemblies . Therefore, all "the people's representatives" were appointed by oligarchies of the party, be released from any popular control.
3. Through the introduction of thresholds for barring unreasonable, the "porcellum" has stifled diversity, expelling minorities, not coalesced by the Parliament.
4. The proposed referendum does not fix any of the defects "porcellum" but on the contrary, aggravates them, emphasizing the negative consequences.
5. The referendum proposes two main changes to the existing electoral law: a) awards the majority of the list, which has received even a single vote more than other competing lists, withdrawing the possibility that the premium is attributed to a coalition of parties, b ) causes a doubling of the minimum threshold for confirming all the 4% threshold in the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate by 8% (current law requires only that the parties are not merging).
6. Award a prize to a majority of single list causes an unusual increase in the premium itself, subverting the basic rule of any democracy which is based on the principle that decisions are taken by majority vote.
7. In this way there is a sort of dictatorship of the minority , as one party, without the consent of the majority of the Italian people would have in its hands the control of the government and the possibility of electing - alone - the President of the Republic and to amend the Constitution.
8. The call of the voters to the polls for the referendum hides a fallacy: it uses the general dissatisfaction that we all have towards this electoral law (the porcellum) to push for a vote, whatever the outcome, can have no other effect than that to strengthen the porcellum.
9. For this it is a hoax referendum: It calls us to the polls to kill porcellum, but in fact the fat and makes it untouchable, because Parliament could not do because of the electoral reforms bound by the vote of the people expressed through the referendum.
10. why we say No to the referendum election is not going to vote and refusing the cards in the referendum, if called to the polls for the runoff
