In recent months I have written several times that I would like to know where to begin to resume the dialogue with young people on the issue of faith and their relationship to the church. Among other I hoped (and still hope) that interested in this blog especially the young people of Bergamo. I warmly thank those who have spoken (though I must point out some form of clericalism rhetorical legitimate on the other hand).
However, I will start to ask themselves a question: why the church as an institution is perceived as alien to many young people?
I believe the answer to this question is very complex. I merely pointed out that the establishment in general in contemporary culture has lost its symbolic meaning: it no longer refers to the direction which has the meaning of his existence. This also applies to civilian institutions for the church ... but the question is more serious. In fact, if you can not refer to Jesus and to his being the mother of all, he fails his vocation ... I often hear young people say: Jesus yet again, but the church does not speak ... I mean, the church, which is the Christian community is perceived as a burden in their relationship with Jesus, frankly, if they understand why. Perhaps it is true, the church can sometimes appear as a power structure, but it in the depths of his being, should not be anything other than a witness to Jesus Christ died and rose again ... and this part of the church we find in our community, oratories, monasteries, associations ... Maybe there is a form of witness that we should rediscover the Gospel and that, in my opinion, would make the Christian community closer to the young fraternity. "Love one another as I have loved you." This commandment of the Lord makes present his face more than any political practice, any well-organized activities ... But if young people live their lives to an atom, how they perceive the fraternity, as they will have access to this dimension of church life . We must try and hope that someone has ears to hear.
